I love connecting with people, by building a warm and open space where we can explore stuff that might feel vulnerable but is crucial for healing. I bring in creative and mindful vibes to make things feel healing and restorative, all while tailoring the experience to your unique needs.”

About Me:

Hello! I’m Courtney, a licensed mental health counselor and relational therapist, passionate about the power of human connection. I strongly value the healing properties of the therapeutic relationship and believe in showing up as my authentic self and a fellow human in the therapy room. I strive to create a warm and open space where individuals can feel safe to explore vulnerable topics, believing that this is the first and most important step in the healing and evolutionary process. I recognize that the human experience is often deeply complex and painful, yet has the potential to be beautiful and fulfilling as well.

I view therapy as a collaborative and empowering journey, and believe that you are the expert of your own experience. I see my role in the therapy room as the guide and facilitator of this exploration of self, and consider it a privilege to walk alongside you in this process!

My approach to therapy is holistic, exploring the many components and intersecting areas of a person’s life and identity. Through blending psychodynamic principles with somatic techniques, and IFS (Internal Family Systems) theory, I help individuals begin to nurture the mind-body connection and access the wisdom of their inner parts.

In session, I will listen with curiosity, ask thought-provoking questions, and offer insights to help you gain clarity and self-awareness. Together, we will work to uncover the unconscious patterns that may be leading you to feeling stuck, and work towards integrating new insights into your daily life.
Throughout my own therapeutic work, training at the University of Florida, internship experience at a residential facility for PTSD and substance use, and my work the last few years at Holistic Psychotherapy NYC, I have cultivated a deeper understanding of how our past experiences shape our present reality. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, life transitions, identity exploration, disordered eating, and relationship challenges.

I love utilizing humor, creativity, and mindfulness in session, as I believe tapping into these elements can be incredibly healing and restorative. I work from an affirmative, anti-oppressive, body and sex-positive framework to foster an environment of safety and trust for each individual. I believe it is crucial that each therapeutic experience is tailored to the individual, accounting for the unique needs of each person.

Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time with my dog Bella, experimenting with film photography, and going to see live music.
